nextgen™ – a new generation of connectors at WBT

The proven WBT sandwich cable lugs have now received their very own next-gen update. The signal conductor has always been made of pure copper (in the Cu versions) and has a minimalist design. In keeping with WBT’s next-gen principle, the connector body has now been constructed largely metal-free. Look forward to even more detailed and spacious music reproduction!

The key to the exceptional quality of this cable lug lies in the special design of the contact fork, based on the patented* sandwich principle: Elastomer vibration dampers eliminate airborne and structure-borne noise, as well as magnetostriction. Contact microphony is thus largely suppressed; no disturbing background noise is generated. At the same time, the fracture resistance of the connection is improved. The sandwich construction, an elastomer embedded in a steel cap, results in high and even contact pressure and minimizes contact resistance. Four embossed contact points on the underside of the fork establish a precisely defined contact. Signal transmission is significantly improved, especially at high currents or low voltages. To ensure long-term contact resistance, the surface of the copper signal conductor is protected against oxidation by a nickel-free direct gold plating.

The cable connection is made using crimp technology. Thanks to the fine-threaded Torx screws, the connection is reliable and resistant to tension.

The plug bodies are fully insulated and meet CE and IEC safety requirements.
