Description

The Atacama Evoque Eco 65-60 SE2 Reference Series incorporates the latest technological advancements from the award-winning Evoque range, offering additional improvements to the deflection channels and leg component construction compared to the standard Evoque and Evoque Eco Special Edition. This Reference Series mount comes standard with mechanically tuned stainless steel spikes, allowing for a 50% higher load capacity per module compared to the Evoque Eco 60-40 SE2. It also offers significantly increased storage width (65 cm) and depth (60 cm) for accommodating larger hi-fi components.
Features and Benefits of the Evoque SE2 Reference Series

1. High-density bamboo flooring.
Atacama’s high-density, carbonized bamboo offers significant acoustic advantages over conventional hardwood and veneer flooring. Its unique micropore structure provides excellent vibration dampening and resonance control. The production process, layering, density, and overall thickness were specifically selected for optimal acoustic results.

2. A.S.I.S.T. damping seals.
The Atacama Sonic Isolation System Technology (A.S.I.S.T.) is integrated into each module. This consists of two damping seals* in each leg that reduce vibration and isolate the aluminum components from the outer leg collar.

3. Upper and lower aluminum caps, connected by internal bolts.
These components act as resonance conductors, directing energy away from the bamboo shelves so it can be dissipated to the floor.

4. Mechanically tuned leg lengths*
The leg lengths are 20 mm longer than the corresponding leg height of the standard Evoque. This lowers the resonant frequency of each module* compared to a comparable standard Evoque.

5. Leg Tuning Counterweights*
By attaching fully adjustable nickel-plated bronze Frostrum counterweights to the internal leg bolts*, the module frequency can be adjusted to reduce the resonance of the respective devices.

6. SE2 Upgrade over SE – Improved mechanically tuned leg lengths*
The leg lengths are 5 mm longer than the standard Evoque SE. This further lowers the resonant frequency of each module* compared to a comparable standard Evoque SE.

7. SE2 upgrade over SE – A.V.R.D.C Advanced Vectored Resonance Deflection Channels.
Every Bamboo panel features new A.V.R.D.C Advanced Vectored Resonance Deflection Channels.

A.V.R.D.C. is the three-dimensional, curved geometric design incorporated into the bottom of each module. This newly developed, multi-curved pattern neutralizes high-frequency harmonic energy by directing it away from the supported equipment to the grounding components of the legs. Each channel was cut in a V-shape and then curved to direct the maximum amount of energy entering the shelf vertically horizontally to the leg components. This eliminates resonant feedback and maximizes the performance of each module.

8. SE2 Reference Series Upgrade over SE2 – Advanced stainless steel isolation cones.
Because so much resonance is diverted from the bamboo, the spike interface has been opened wider. This prevents this energy from being constricted and allows it to dissipate freely to the ground. These new spikes are longer and shaped to maximize energy transfer between modules while providing some isolation. We call this “Mechanical Grounding.” The Reference Series spikes are made of stainless steel and allow for a 50% higher load-bearing capacity per module.

9. SE2 upgrade over SE – Bamboo panels with side edges.
The contoured edges on the two side surfaces of each bamboo module prevent resonant energy in the form of standing waves and instead direct it to the new AVRDC channels, increasing the efficiency of each shelf. As the wave bounces off the edge surface, it changes phase. For waves that create a standing wave, the reflected wave is a mirror image of the original. The waves then combine. If the amplitudes of the two waves have the same sign (both positive / both negative), they add up to form a wave with a larger amplitude. This addition is called constructive interference. Contouring the side edges helps prevent this.
